AT&T has
launched a nationwide effort to recruit military veterans for approximately
3,000 job openings. Nearly 200 of these jobs are in Los Angeles ranging
from technical to sales management to U-verse systems. The company has
set up a special website to facilitate job applications by service men and
women: http://att-veterans.jobs/.
“Every year
AT&T hires hundreds of military veterans to join our team,” said Jace
Barbin, AT&T Vice President and General Manager of the Greater Los Angeles
Region. “The self-discipline, teamwork and skills gained as part of our
armed forces allow for an easy transition to a career with AT&T, where many
of those same values are part of our everyday culture.”
AT&T has
a long history of supporting the military, dating back to World War I, and
recruits top military talent for all levels of the company through a variety of
programs. It also helps military employees adjust to their new civilian
positions through mentoring and training.
Veterans
can access the AT&T job openings via the special website that includes a
Military Skills translator that allows veterans to use their current Military
Occupation Code/Military Occupation Specialty to find out what civilian jobs at
AT&T would be a good fit for them.
