A Taste of Spring- Saturday, May 12
When you think of cancer-fighting foods, sure, pomegranate, blueberry and grape may come to mind, but mushrooms and cinnamon? According to City of Hope researchers, these popular ingredients can be added to the list of “super foods” that may help fight cancer.
Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Americana at Brand in Glendale will host their first-ever “A Taste of Spring” event presented by Citi in which L.A.’s top chefs and culinary minds will entertain the crowd with cooking demos, a panel discussion, restaurant samplings along The Green and a Super Food Recipe Challenge. Leading up to the event, the public is invited to submit a recipe using any of the five super foods (pomegranate, blueberry, grape, mushroom and Cinnamon) and the winner will be announced on stage at The Americana at Brand. On-hand will be local Chef Neal Fraser, chef and culinary ambassador to City of Hope Katie Chin, popular foodie and blogger Claire Thomas and more. Open to the public, guests will be able to explore the exciting culinary landscape of Los Angeles and maybe even pick up some inspiration for a homemade Mother’s Day brunch.
